faigle PAS-PAA material

faigle PAS-PAA is a high-end plastic product. It is a glass-fibre reinforced thermoplastic structural material based on polyamide with an aromatic ingredient. It is mainly used for the production of injection-moulded engineering components which must meet maximum strength and rigidity requirements. PAS-PAA features the following properties:

  • high rigidity and strength
  • dimensional stability and low distortion
  • high resistance to chemicals
  • good surface quality
  • low moisture absorption
  • retention of mechanical properties, even in damp environments

Due to these properties, it is a good alternative material for components which are currently produced from metallic die casting alloys. By comparison, PAS-PAA material has additional advantages, such as enhanced damping properties, reduced weight and resistance to corrosion.

PAS-PAA is an ideal material for the hubs of plastic rollers exposed to high stress, in particular due to its excellent bonding to tires made of thermoplastic polyurethane. faigle uses PAS-PAA to produce components for truck trailer couplings, heavy-duty rollers for escalators and high-stress valve parts.
