faigle celebrates its 70th anniversary

The success story of faigle, the family-owned plastics company, was celebrated at a gala evening on 18 November.

The spotlight was on the employees of the company which Heinz Faigle founded in Hard am See in 1947. What began in barracks by the lake has meanwhile grown into an international group of companies. Today, the family company consists of the headquarters in Hard and the subsidiaries Industrieplast in Hard, faigle Igoplast AG in Switzerland and Suzhou faigle Engineering Plastics Co. Ltd in China. At present, the company employs around 400 people.

Managing Director Wolfgang Faigle and his son Sohn Friedrich Faigle welcomed the nearly 500 guests. This was followed by presenter Kerstin Polzer, well-known from the Austrian TV station “Vorarlberg heute”, who compered the varied programme.

The highlight was the presentation of the faigle history in book form which chronicled the last 70 years and provided an outlook for the future.

The festivities honoured a total of 345 years of corporate experience. Wolfgang Faigle, Managing Director, and Andreas Schmid, Head of Group HR. thanked the celebrants for the many years of their commitment which has contributed substantially to the success of the company. Five apprentices were also congratulated on completing their training and long-term employees were bid farewell on their retirement.

From plastic rollers for escalators and hanging straps for metro trains through to high-quality industrial parts made of plastic for mechanical and plant engineering: faigle is market leader in many branches of industry and has also played a key role in pioneering the development of new technologies. This was confirmed by the award of the Innovation Prize in 2017 – for the steel-free elevator rope, the UltraRope®.

The faigle executive management, the Faigle family and many employees and their partners celebrated this anniversary in due style.

It was an unforgettable evening for all concerned.
