Benefits
Grippers are used in rubber-glove manufacturing lines to pull the rubber-gloves from the (ceramic) former. For one rubber-glove line up to 5 gripper-stations are used to handle up to 15.000 rubber-gloves per hour.
The grippers are operating under harsh conditions: high humidity and temperatures, aggressive vapors and liquids, extensive friction on abrasive ceramic former surface, high stress from the tension of the rubber-gloves, millions of fast, dynamic cycles.
Requirements on grippers are a smooth handling of the sensitive rubber-gloves (minimize torn-rate) and long service life in order to reduce cost-intensive down-times.
The grippers from faigle are 2-component injection-molded parts with ball-bearings. The component which is in contact with the glove is made of a soft elastomer and designed to grip the rubber-glove safely but smoothly.
The body and the surface which is sliding on the ceramic former is made of a hard polymer which is specially optimized for abrasion-resistance, stiffness and dimension-stability.
Both materials are absolutely hydrolysis-resistant in order not to degrade due to high humidity. They also form a very reliable bonding in our highly sophisticated 2-component injection molding process. Tests have shown a 5-times higher service life than conventional grippers.
- Reliable operation due to high-quality ball bearing with lifetime grease-filling
- Reduced torn-rate due to soft materials and smooth edges
- No material degradation in humid areas
- Reduced cost of downtime
