2C wheel incl. FDS (faigle damping system)
In the intralogistics sector, support and guiding wheels are mainly used in sorter and conveyor systems. They are subject to very high loads due to the extremely tough operating conditions. High availability is vital for sorter systems – breakdowns and maintenance stoppages often bring long logistics chains to a standstill. So support and guiding wheels need to operate reliably for years on end, often around the clock, without the need for maintenance. Low noise emissions and minimal running resistance are further key requirements.
faigle plastic wheels provide:
- Long service life thanks to hard-wearing material – significantly higher abrasion resistance compared with rubber
- No hydrolysis-related ageing or damage – reliable operation including in damp environments
- Attractive pricing thanks to cost-effective injection moulding
- Quality-approved ball bearings that meet the highest standards ensure trouble-free operation over many years
faigle’s 1C wheel is made from PAS-PU – a thermoplastic elastomer – and a press-fitted ball bearing. High pre-tensioning means the tyre is securely attached to the ball bearing, while the running surface is ground to ensure optimum concentricity.
faigle’s 2C wheel comprise a thermoplastic elastomer PAS-PU tyre, a fibre-glass-reinforced polyamide hub and an overmoulded ball bearing. The tyre is non-detachable and is securely welded onto the hub. The wheel’s concentricity is optimised by grinding the running surface.
PAS-PU has excellent tear resistance, outstanding mechanical properties and is fully hydrolysis-resistant. Additional we only uses ball bearings from selected manufacturers audited by the company.
- High pre-tensioning ensures that the ball bearing sits securely (1C wheel)
- Strong tyre bonding ensures reliable operation (2C wheel)
- Also suitable for axial loads, misalignment and cornering (2C wheel)
These next-generation wheels from faigle can cut the energy consumption of package and baggage handling systems. The wheels run smoothly and quietly thanks to optimised concentricity and running resistance. The unique faigle Damping System (FDS) absorbs shocks and vibrations without any negative effects on running resistance.
faigle’s latest support and guiding wheels feature a polyamide hub combined with a PAS-PU TCS tyre. The specially developed running surface stands out for its minimal compression set. This all but eliminates flattening even after longer stoppages, which in turn saves energy when the system restarts.
The higher-strength wheel construction allows for a narrower tyre without any loss in load-bearing capacity or running smoothness. This translates into reduced running resistance, which in turn cuts energy consumption when the system is in operation.
- Significantly reduced start-up and running resistance maximises energy efficiency
- Integrated faigle Damping System (FDS) reduces operating noise
- No hydrolysis-related ageing or damage – reliable operation, including in damp environments
- Strong tyre bonding ensures reliable operation
- Quality-approved ball bearings that meet the highest standards ensure trouble-free operation over many years
