From rolling stock, passenger cars and freight wagons to low-floor cars, suburban rail carriages, trams and infrastructure – faigle’s durable and reliable engineering plastics are in operation in many rail industry sectors all over the world. Besides our standard products for passenger cars and freight wagons, we also offer a huge range of application-specific components for the rail vehicle industry. Approvals from various rail regulators reflect the outstanding tribological and dynamic properties of faigle materials.
Plastics and railway construction
High-performance, wear-resistant PAS-LX GF parts are used as a damping component in the joints of switch point linkages. They dampen vibrations, in turn reducing the dynamic load on the adjacent functional elements. In contrast to conventional metal bushes, they require no lubrication, even though they are subject to constant loads and extreme weather effects. By protecting surrounding functional parts such as drill holes and bolts, the bushings help to extend service intervals. And besides boosting efficiency, that’s also a plus for the environment.

"For more than three decades, our switch point bushings have been instrumental in ensuring long-term safety all over the world. They have also proved their worth in continuous operation in the points systems of well-known international manufacturers and rail companies, including Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB), Voest Alpine Eisenbahnsysteme GmbH (VAEE) and Deutsche Bahn (DB).
